SAMANTHA LUISA CRISANTI

Civil Rights Attorney

Samantha Luisa Crisanti, Esq. is a Civil Rights Attorney at Peoples’ Counsel, where she represents survivors of police violence in federal civil rights litigation. She is committed to ensuring that those harmed by state violence receive fierce, dignified advocacy. Grounded in movement lawyering principles and accountability to impacted communities, Samantha centers survivors’ stories with care and precision, advancing meaningful accountability while challenging the systems that enable state harm.

Samantha earned her J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center, where she served as Public Interest Chair of the Latin American Law Students Association and as a Legal Writing Fellow, mentoring first-year students in developing rigorous legal analysis. As a student attorney in the Civil Rights Clinic, she represented a client abused by police and jail officers, deepening her commitment to police accountability litigation. She later co-developed a Section 1983 Police Litigation course at Georgetown to equip future advocates with the strategic foundations necessary for this work.

Although Samantha began her legal career as a Litigation Associate at Cooley, she maintained a robust civil rights and criminal justice pro bono practice.

Samantha is a proud member of the DC Hispanic Bar Association. Outside of work, she enjoys dancing, reading memoirs, and kickboxing.
